Southern Cross Alpine Lodge

Spring / Summer / Easter / Autumn

The Snowy Mountains is a beautiful place to visit in spring, summer & autumn.  Southern Cross offers great fellowship, including short devotions at breakfast and short Bible discussions most evenings.  You can sit around and talk, play games, and there is also plenty of space to just quietly read and pray.

There are many day walks within easy access of the lodge, including Mt Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest mainland mountain.  NPWS has been improving many walking tracks such as now between Guthega and Charlotte Pass.  Canoeing, swimming and fishing are possible, as well as admiring the High Country wildflowers.  On warm evenings in summer, many guests have enjoyed a barbeque at the Trout Hatchery near Jindabyne, or have watched the sun set over the Main Range at Charlotte Pass.  There are also various coffee shops, arts & craft in & near Jindabyne and the Children’s Education Centre at Sawpit Creek, and many other activities at Jindabyne, Thredbo and Crackenback Resort.

Or just relax at the lodge in quiet Smiggin Holes.

Southern Cross is accessible by car during late spring, summer and autumn, making it a popular time for young families and the less mobile to visit.  Click here for more details on our facilities.
